Lately I been talking with our kids about the different jobs and gifts God has given them. I like using this language because even our two year old seems to have a different attitude towards tasks, relationships, and authority when I explain it in this way. Being nice to her older brother and sister isn’t just a rule, it’s one of the jobs God has given her. Our children are sometimes humbled, and sometimes encouraged and empowered knowing that God has gifted them in different ways.
1 Corinthians 12:4-6 Now there are a variety of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone.
